The Samaradougou Project is located in south-western Burkina Faso, ~40 km south of Bobo-Dioulasso, the country’s second-largest city. BIC holds this project in partnership with Faso Mines and Services SARL.
Project Area
21.27 sq km
The Samaradougou permit, located in the northeastern Banfora Greenstone Belt, features a mix of volcano-sedimentary and clastic rocks in the northwest, including sandstones and phyllite, with mafic volcanic rocks in the central region. Granitic formations are prominent in the southeast. The rock formations have a NE-SW orientation with a steep southeast dip.
Orogenic gold in the Banfora Greenstone Belt, controlled by a shear zone.
Mineralization in brittle-ductile zones (argillites, tuffs) and brittle fractures (diorites).
Mineralised bodies strikes NE-SW to NNE-SSW, dip ~50° SE-ESE.
1.2 km Strike length of mineralisation and open at north and south end.
Indicators: Silicification, pyrite, multi-phase quartz veins.
Alterations: Quartz-carbonate, chlorite, epidote, sericite, hematite, limonite.
Note: 0.5 g/t used as cut-off with 2 m internal dilution for drill holes; No top-cut; Bore holes drilled with an azimuth of N307° in the north & N270° in the south with inclination of -50°.
